The Energy Market Authority (EMA) is seeking innovative proposals that will address challenges in the power generation sector.
It has launched a Power Generation Grant Call for research and development (R&D) projects to be submitted for consideration.
Chee Hong Tat, chief executive of Energy Market Authority, said: “We want to give some support to work with the industry and other key stakeholders to try and improve reliability and to improve the operational readiness of our power generation systems.
“I think this is something which can help us to identify and to put resources tackling some practical challenges faced by our industry.”
Speaking at an energy forum on Friday, Mr Chee said some of these challenges include dealing with fluctuating gas pressures, for example.
The grant call will close on July 18 and selected projects could receive up to 70 per cent funding support.
